Monte's onesie

Monte and I were talking one night and he said, "No pressure, but if you have the baby before January 1, we get a tax deduction." (He was joking...I think.)

Then I went to Target the next day and saw this onesie. I had to buy it. Monte loved it. He said the baby will definitely wear it.

Hawaii

We went to Hawaii for our main summer vacation. It was so beautiful! I was jealous of the people that were born there. I would love to live there if my family lived there also. We went to Maui and Oahu. Maui was very calm and relaxing. We were in paradise.

We also wanted to see Pearl Harbor, so we decided to spend a couple of days on Oahu. The first day we went to Pearl Harbor. It was amazing. We went out to the USS Arizona. It was so weird to think that the ship you are looking down at still has people inside. I am glad we had to chance to go.

At first we didn't like Oahu. We didn't think we would ever go back. It was very busy where we were. There was a huge city with a beach. Then we went to the beach the second day. We had a blast!! The beach was packed, but it wasn't annoying. The waves were bigger, so we could actually play in the ocean instead of just float around. The Christian Surfers Organization was having a surfing competition where we were, so that was fun to watch.

Lexie on the balcony of our hotel in Maui. We had a great view. Thanks Monte!

Lexie learning to hula.

Here we are at the Haleakala Crater in Maui. It is 10,000 feet above sea level. The view from there is amazing! Haleakala is an active, but not currently erupting volcano. (It hasn't erupted in 200 years.)

Lexie took a picture of the sunset from our balcony. It is beautiful!!

Catching some waves!

Everybody's gone surfing....Well, not me. They won't let pregnant women try. I guess doing belly busters in the ocean is not good for the baby.

Monte and Lexie took surfing lessons in Maui. They had so much fun. I didn't get many pictures of them actually riding the waves, most of those are on video. They did a really good job, especially since they have never done it before. I think their arms got really tired. It was 80% paddling and 20% riding the waves.

Monte and Lexie practicing on land. Their instructor was a real surfer dude, totally!

Finally, they got to get in the water to practice.

Lexie caught a wave!
(I didn't know people surfed that close together. I just knew she was going to bust it and land on somebody's board. )

Second Trimester--WooHoo

Today is the first day of my second trimester! Monte and I got to see the baby again yesterday and hear the heartbeat. The heartbeat was 159. It was funny, Monte said, "Hey, maybe the baby will wave at us." Then, the baby held up its hand and waved. It was so cute! Here are a few pictures.
