Carter's big day

Carter and I went to Gymboree Play and Music today. This is the first time he has been around other babies. He loved it once he woke up. He slept through the music part at the beginning. We played peek-a-boo with a bright orange scarf, he really liked that. He laughed when I made the Gymbo hand puppet kiss him. I think the infant massage was one of his favorite parts. The leader couldn't believe how much he was smiling during it. The little baby next to me cracked me up during the massage. She was 5 1/2 months old, and she would say 'ooh' and "aah". She is a girl after my own heart.

When we left Gymboree, we went and interviewed a babysitter. :-( She seemed very nice and responsible. My problem is that I don't think I can find anyone good enough to take care of my precious bundle of joy. What if they just let him cry or don't play with him?! What really goes on when nobody is there? Here is what you can do to help: I need everyone to pray that I will win the lottery before April 14th (when I am supposed to go back to work). It doesn't have to be the big one. One million is fine.

Congratulations Lexie

Tonight was the first semester Honor Roll assembly. We are so proud of Lexie. She worked very hard. Way to go Lex!!

The many faces of Lexie.
Those of you that know Lexie, know that she is a clown. She is so dramatic. When I was taking pictures of her with her award, she started posing. She will probably kill me for putting some of these pictures on here, but I just had to share.

Carter's Firsts (and other random photos)

I took Carter to the doctor last week because he was congested. It was exactly 6 weeks from the day we left the hospital, and he has gained exactly 3 pounds. He now weighs in at 10 pounds 3 ounces. He is a little piggy.

Carter's first primary.
I am not saying which political party he belongs to; but when we are in the car and he is fussy, the only things that calm him down are Fox News and Sarah Evans.

One month birthday.
We had star cupcakes with sprinkles.

Carter moved into his own bed at 5 weeks. He is doing really well in his own room. He usually gets up to eat around 11:00, 4:30, and 6:30. For a while, 4:30 was social hour. Fortunately now, he goes right back to sleep after he eats.

First Valentine's Day
"I am waiting for someone to kiss me! Someone other than mom, please."

First movie.
Lexie picked out Carter's first movie. We went and saw "Step Up 2: The Streets." We also saw "Jumper" this past weekend. Carter is a very good movie patron so far. He sleeps through the whole thing (just like his mom).

"Sweet Dreams"

"I love the red frog!"

"My family is so funny! They make funny faces and make up the silliest songs."

Monte and Carter playing with Baby (the cat). So far he is not very interested in the cats, but I am sure that will change once he gets big enough to chase them and grab their tails.

Carter is a very happy baby. He smiles and laughs all of the time. He is starting to make sounds when he laughs.

"No more pictures please!"

Lexie Update

Lexie's team won the last game they played. Two in a row...WooHoo!! Lexie had an awesome game. It was probably her best one so far. She was all over the place. She would come from nowhere and slap the ball out of a player's hands. She was also rebounding like crazy. I think we are going to start calling her "Little Rodman". (These pictures are from her last practice. I didn't get pictures from the game because I was videoing, Monte was in Arkansas, and Carter can't figure out how to use the camera.)

Lexie got Monte his own guitar for Valentine's Day so they can battle each other.

America's Next Top Model
These pictures are from December. I just love her hair and outfit, so I thought I would share them with everyone.

"Hey mom! Come watch American Gladiators with us.
The girls keep falling in the water!!"

I had a hair appointment, so Monte watched the kids.
When I came home, Lex was watching TV with Carter.
It was so cute!!

Dressed for a blizzard. Looking at Lexie you never
would have guessed that it was 71 degrees outside.
She saves the matching scarf and hat for when it
gets really cold, like 65 degrees!

Lexie has been saving her money to buy this necklace from Tiffany's. After Christmas she was finally able to buy it. It is really beautiful. She has good taste.

My babies! Everyone should get to have a 12 year old before they have a baby. She is a huge help. She changes diapers without me asking. On the day of my hair appointment, she rocked Carter and put him in bed while Monte took a shower. She is a great big sister!! What a lucky mom I am!!

Super Bowl XLII

We went over to our friends house for the Super Bowl. We had a great time even though the Patriots lost. (Our friends were hoping the Giants would win, so they had an even better time.)

Super confused!?! What do you mean the Bengals
are not playing the 49ers?
(We opted for football attire even if it was the wrong teams.)

Our friends Pete and Gabri with Carter.

Lexie's Basketball Game

Lexie's team won their first game this season. Lexie did an excellent job of stealing the ball, and she only got 2 fouls!! She also made a basket during the game. Great job Lex!!

Catching a pass.

That's MY ball!! (She's the one in the middle ripping the
ball out of the girl's hands.)

She's the one with the ball.

We won!!!
