What a Weekend!

We had a very fun and relaxing weekend. When I picked Lexie up from school on Friday, she informed me that we HAVE to go to the Bentonville Homecoming football game because EVERYONE is going. It turned out to be a great game. Bentonville was ranked #2 and they played Southside who is ranked #1. Bentonville won! It turned out to be Coach Barry Lunney's 175th win (and it was against the school where he used to coach--funny). Lexie knew B-ville won, but couldn't tell you the score. She was too busy talking to EVERYONE. We all had fun: Monte got to watch a football game, I learned a little more about football, Lexie socialized, and Carter got to people watch.
Carter's first high school football game. (He is in the carrier because he had just woke up. Yes, he can sleep through anything!!)

Saturday morning we just hung out and watched the Arkansas "game". Carter got his first official injury on Saturday morning. Now that he has learned to crawl and pull up, he pulls up to EVERYTHING!! We have a really low window in the living room that Carter likes to look out. Most of his PJs have grippers on the bottom, but he was wearing a pair that didn't. As he started cruising along the window sill, his foot slipped and he busted his mouth on the side of the window. It happened in slow motion, but I just couldn't get to him in time to stop the fall. I felt like the worst mother in the world.

This is a pic I took right before the fall.

Saturday night we went out to my sister's house. It was the first time we have been out there since we moved back. (She is about 45 minutes away. We usually meet in the middle.) We had so much fun! The kids played, the men watched football, and the women played with kids and talked. I can't wait to do it again.

Lexie had golf classes at Tanyard Creek in Bella Vista over the summer. I found out from a bloggy buddy that they also have a great nature trail, so we decided to try it out Sunday afternoon. It was a great day to go because they were having Doggy Days (or something like that) at the park in front of the trail. Carter loved watching all of the dogs. It was very exciting for him. The hiking trail was also a big hit for him. He squealed with excitement the whole time. At times his whole body would shake because he was so excited. Carter is definitely a fan of the great outdoors. Lexie wasn't as excited. She was tired because she had stayed up texting all night. She did seem to enjoy it though. Now she wants to go to Devil's Den.

After the hike, Monte hit a few golf balls at the driving range. By the time we finished the trail, Lexie was too tired to hit golf balls. She relaxed and listened to her iPod while we watched Monte. (My camera battery died when we got to the trail and I left my phone in the car, so I don't have pictures from the trail.)
